Priority #1: put resources where they matter most--students and teachers! I support early reading and math support. I support funding for classroom aids and behavioral needs. I support special education and intervention. We need to address class size pressures so teachers can give students the attention they deserve. We need to improve transparency so taxpayers know dollars are reaching the classrooms.
Priority #2: support teachers and improve classroom conditions. I support competitive teacher pay and retention. I support reducing unnecessary administrative burdens.
Priority #3: restore trust with parents. Ensure transparency with curriculum and classroom materials. Increase meaningful opportunities for parent involvement. Respect family values while supporting teachers in their role.
Priority #4: balance school choice with accountability.I respect and support multiple pathways: public, charter, homeschool and private options. But we must require accountability for any use of public funds, including academic outcomes, financial transparency, and responsible stewardship.
Prioity #5: focuse on results and student success. I support focusing on reading and math proficiency. I support career and technical education pathways. I support financial literacy, and real-world readiness. Every student should leave school prepared for college, career, or skilled trades.
Additional: right to organize means ALL unions, including teachers, should have the right to have a voice in important issues such as classroom safety, compensation, and curriculum
