Education

Education runs deep in my family. My mom taught elementary school and my father-in-law was a high school principal (in fact, he was MY principal at Olympus High School). I grew up knowing that education should be available to all and that the more we invest in our education system, the stronger and healthier our society.

Software Accountability for Education (SAFE) is a bill that will secure digital classrooms by setting safety standards for instructional software and reduce non-essential screen time in early grades--yes, great idea! I also support the Digital LIteracy Graduation Requirement bill to prepare our kids better for understanding the effects of social media and cybersecurity
 

Cell phone limits already exist at many schools. A "bell-to-bell" ban on cellphones in K-12 schools will bring kids back into real person interactions and allow them to focus better

Right to organize means ALL unions, including teachers, should have the right to have a voice in important issues such as classroom safety, compensation, and curriculum
