Environment

We are confronting several critical environmental challenges that will shape the state’s long‑term water security, ecosystem health, and community well‑being

The Great Salt Lake is facing severe shrinkage driven by overuse of upstream water, drought, and rising evaporation rates—creating exposed lakebed that threatens air quality, ecosystems, and Utah’s long‑term water security. I support bills that will further protect the lake and provide for a sustainable future

Water conservation, Utah faces widespread water‑supply challenges, leading to additional proposals such as leak‑tracking requirements for utilities, new water‑rights rules for areas in the Lower Basin, and exemptions for certain municipal water suppliers

Wildlife and green space are important to every community and a balance must be found between environmental protections and allowing continued growth
